  • Starts working on an archaeological dig in Hacienda Calatagan with archaeologist Dr. Robert Fox, which stimulated his interest in reading and writing Chinese
  • Exhibits some of his paintings belonging to his Saeta series and Black series at Galeria Biosca in Madrid, Spain, which was the first time that the gallery had held an exhibition of an abstract artist's work
